Active vibration damping of water chuck : a feasibility study
نویسنده
چکیده
Design The feasibility study, focuses on building up knowledge of and experience with the technology of using the "d31-effect" of piezoelectric material to damp the internal vibrations of the system. The investigation starts by specifying the mathematical relations that describes the piezoelectric "d31-effect" and particularising these relations for the actuator and sensor situation. The two vibration modes of the system, targeted by damping, are investigated by building and using a simplified FEM model of the system. An experimental set-up has been realised to investigate the practical use of the active vibration damping of the system. The piezosensors and piezoactuators were glued at the identified positions. Finally, the experiments were carried out on the system by measuring the frequency response functions (FRFs) between the piezoactuators and piezosensors, designing the feedback control loop to achieve damping and then evaluating the achieved performance by comparing the FRFs between Lorentz forces and acceleration with control off and control on.
